Interior Lovely: Tres Chic Decor

A peek inside an elegant, neutral New York apartment… Tres Chic!

Living room

An apartment comprising the ground floor and basement of a brownstone in Brooklyn, New York. On the ground floor, there is a master bedroom and living room. The basement has a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, bedroom and study.

A mix of textures, ages and colours creates a living room of curiosities. The delicate pattern is worked around an elegant buttoned sofa.

Living room area

A pale palette provides a romantic and tranquil setting in the living room. Tougher pieces - for example, a painting of a graveyard - throw people's expectations.

Kitchen

The kitchen is compact but, in restaurant-heaven New York, is all the family needs. A marble surround for the dishwasher adds a luxe but practical touch, while the front was customised with blackboard paint; the images of crockery were added in chalk.

Home office

Union Jacks are dotted around this quirky and eclectic children's home office. Vintage furniture gives the room an industrial vibe, while colourful accents pop against a neutral backdrop.

Children's room

A floor-to-ceiling blackboard enhances this playful child's room. The area is defined by using a contrasting neutral paint on surrounding walls, creating a boundary.

Living room to master bedroom
A simple black table combined with gold gilt chairs and a retro pendant creates a relaxed seating area. A stylish globe is a traditional piece, designed in a very modern way.

Master bedroom
Muted tones, linens and esoteric touches lend a restful mood to the master bedroom. A quirky birdcage has been turned into a feature light fitting.
